The Installation Process
Subfloor Inspection
We check the existing tiles or concrete to ensure it is completely flat and dry. High spots are ground down.
Underlayment
An acoustic foam underlay is rolled out to dampen footsteps and provide a softer walking feel.
Click-Lock Installation
Planks are staggered and locked together tightly, leaving an expansion gap around the room edges.
Skirting & Transitions
Matching wood or white MDF skirting boards and metal door transition strips are fitted to hide the gaps.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes! SPC and thick laminate can be installed directly over existing flat ceramic or porcelain tiles. This saves you the immense cost, dust, and time of tile demolition.
Adding a 5mm SPC plank plus 2mm foam underlay raises your floor by 7mm. Most doors have enough clearance, but if they rub, our carpenters will carefully take the door off its hinges and shave the bottom edge so it opens smoothly.
Yes, the planks themselves are entirely waterproof and will not swell or warp like laminate if soaked. However, large amounts of standing water can seep through the click joints to the subfloor, so spills should still be wiped up.
Standard 8mm Laminate is generally the most cost-effective material, followed closely by SPC. Given that SPC is waterproof and far more durable in Dubai, we usually recommend paying the slight premium for SPC.
Yes. We use a taller, deeper MDF or PVC skirting board profile designed specifically to "cap" or cover the old tile skirting, eliminating the need to pry the old tiles off the wall and risk damaging the plaster.
